How Municipal Court Warrants Work
A municipal warrant belongs to the court that issued the case, whether it grew from a city ordinance, a traffic ticket, or a failure to appear. The paper tells you which court that is. None of Wayne County's five incorporated towns runs its own municipal court or warrant portal. Even so, that does not settle where every town citation was filed. The court name printed on the notice controls. For a first pass, the public Utah Statewide Warrants search covers the whole state, and Xchange opens public case information. If a case shows up, call the issuing clerk. Do not expect a town office or the Sheriff's main number to recall a bench warrant.
No Separate Wayne County City Warrant Portal Was Found
No city police warrant search exists among Wayne County's five ranked towns. There is no municipal-court lookup either. Nor a city payment form or warrant phone. Incorporation alone does not create a separate warrant system. A citation may still involve a town ordinance, so identify the record holder from the court printed on it. The county's official documents index carries local forms when they exist. A missing form proves nothing about every local citation.
Municipal Courts Across Wayne County
Each office below is a civic contact, not a verified warrant counter. That distinction matters here. If a citation names Wayne County Justice Court, follow its clerk and citation instructions; a different court on the paper means a different phone call.
| Town | Official civic contact found | Warrant or court interface found | Route for a named court matter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loa | Town & Waterworks, 80 W Center, 435-836-2160 | No city portal located | Call the court on the citation |
| Bicknell | Town Council listing, 64 W 100 N, 435-425-2215 | No verified interface located | Use Justice Court only if named |
| Torrey | Town Hall, 100 N 75 E, 435-425-3600 | No town warrant portal located | Confirm court before travel |
| Lyman | Town Hall location, 115 S Main, from county page | Current town contact not located | Use notice to identify court |
| Hanksville | Town office, 30 S Hwy 95, 435-542-3451 | No city court form located | Call the court, not town office, for status |
The Wayne County offices page lists the courthouse and Sheriff contacts used in this section. It shows no city warrant roster.

For a case, confirm the issuing court from the notice itself.
A Wayne County Town Office Is Not a Warrant Counter
Each office is different. Loa Town & Waterworks sits at 80 West Center, apart from the courthouse at 18 South Main. Bicknell's listing covers its Town Council, not a judge. Torrey's General Plan treats public safety as mainly a county and state job. The county lists Lyman with no current town phone. Hanksville posts town-office hours but no warrant hours. A town office can explain local administration or point you to a public contact. None of these Wayne County offices should be cast as the place that issues, serves, or recalls a warrant. Nothing official in Wayne County assigns them that role.
Wayne County Municipal Warrant Checks
Start any Wayne County warrant check with the court name and citation number. BCI takes a first and last name, an optional middle initial, and a CAPTCHA. It is statewide and fed by the courts. Xchange can search by case, citation, court, or party fields where public access allows. Neither tool replaces the clerk. Only the clerk can confirm the warrant. For Wayne County traffic, infraction, and class B or C matters, the Justice Court answers at 435-836-1321. Its citation PDF spells out payment and hearing steps. Felony and class A matters belong to Sixth District Court at 435-836-1301. If a notice names another court, call that court.
Wayne County Municipal Warrant Routing Follows the Citation
The right question is not which town but which court is printed on the document; that court holds the case. It decides whether payment, a new date, a motion, or another judicial step is required. The Sheriff's Office at 435-836-1308 is the published contact for service and custody in Wayne County. It is not a city warrant division. The county publishes no chart assigning agencies. If the paper names Wayne Justice Court, call the county clerk; if it names Sixth District Court, call that clerk. Only that court can recall or quash a warrant. A town office stays a civic contact unless the document itself names it as the record holder.
Municipal Warrants: What They Show
A public docket or citation ties a court obligation to a case, a court, a date, and a payment or appearance duty. Wayne County posts no city-level example or warrant-number format. So treat the table as a field checklist. Confirm each value with the clerk.
| Town name | Shows where a citation or ordinance issue arose; it does not identify the court by itself. |
|---|---|
| Court name | Read the issuing court on the citation or docket. |
| Case or citation | number on your notice is the identifier to give the clerk. |
| Required action | Ask whether payment, a hearing, appearance, or motion is required. |
| Warrant label | Confirm the court’s exact wording for bench, arrest, or FTA status. |
| Current status | Ask whether the court has recalled, served, or updated the entry. |
A Name Match Cannot Identify a Wayne County Municipal Warrant
BCI's public form offers only limited name fields. A similar name proves nothing. Xchange opens more case-search categories, but restricted, juvenile, sealed, and expunged matters may not display. A town name on a citation can be mistaken for the court name, so read the paper closely. Match any public result against your own case details. Then ask the clerk to confirm. Wayne County relatives get no exception; permission and access rules still govern a family request.
Clearing a Municipal Court Warrant
Pick up the phone before you pay or drive anywhere. The clerk can confirm the case number and the current warrant label. Ask whether you must appear, and whether payment alone clears it. Also ask whether a judge has to order the recall or reset. No separate municipal-court payment form exists for the five Wayne towns, and none of them runs a bond window or a warrant amnesty.
Note: The city's official pages, checked 2026-09-20, list no municipal-court warrant portal or payment form, so the notice tells you where a Wayne County citation was filed. Call that court's clerk.
If the Justice Court lets you pay, follow its official notice and keep the receipt. Ask when the docket and any statewide record update. A Wayne County town clerk will not change a court record for you.
Wayne County GRAMA Requests Do Not Create a City Warrant List
A Utah Government Records Access and Management Act request can get you a public record that already exists. Name the court or county office that holds it. Add the case or citation, the date range, and whether you want inspection or a copy. If anything is redacted or withheld, the holder must explain why. Courts may run their own records process. One limit matters here. GRAMA never forces a town or county office to build a warrant roster that does not exist. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, and protected material can stay restricted.
