Direct a case question to the court that issued it. The Justice Court clerk handles many traffic and lower-level matters, while Sixth District Court handles felony and class A cases. Have a case number ready. The Sheriff’s Office can route service or custody questions, but it cannot change a court record. Use the official contacts below and identify the court from the notice before calling. A name-only question may not locate the correct file.

This is not a government office. We cannot check a private case, recall a warrant, accept payment, arrange a surrender, post bond, or provide legal advice. Official status and procedure must come from the court or agency that holds the record.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Choose the office based on the court or task named in the paperwork:

  • Wayne County Justice Court: traffic citations, infractions, and many class B or C matters. The county citation PDF lists the courthouse at 18 South Main, Loa, Utah 84747, phone 435-836-1321, email jakellep@utcourts.gov, mail to PO Box 327, and clerk hours Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sixth District Court, Wayne County: felony and class A criminal matters. Contact the Loa courthouse clerk at 435-836-1301. The court lists PO Box 189, Loa, UT 84747-0189. No separate warrant desk was published.
  • Wayne County Sheriff’s Office: service or custody routing. The county lists 18 South Main Street, Loa, UT 84747, phone 435-836-1308, and wcso@wayne.utah.gov. This is the main office contact, not a dedicated warrant line.
  • Utah public warrant search: use the BCI search page for a statewide preliminary check. Contact the issuing clerk to confirm any result.

For a traffic citation, first confirm that Wayne County Justice Court is the court printed on the notice. Some violations require a mandatory appearance, and the amount or route should be confirmed before payment. The county citation and court-fees document describes the Justice Court procedure. A town office is not a substitute for the court clerk.
